On Saturday, 8th June, I was part of the delegation of the 10th Senate on an inspection and tour of the Dangote Petroleum refinery and Dangote Fertilizer plant in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State. The $20billion investment is forecasted to generate $28billion annually when fully operational.

The Senate President who led the delegation, pledged the commitment of the National Assembly towards ensuring indigenous investments, such as Dangote Industries, continue to thrive through the creation of supportive policies and enabling environment.

This visit was personally satisfying as it is obvious that there is light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to solving the economic challenges bedeviling our nation. We will eventually eliminate our over-dependence on the importation of petroleum products.
