Friday 5th April, 2024. I began my day with inspiration from Colossians 3:23-24: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

In the morning, I attended the funeral service for the late Obong Enobong Umanah to pay my last respects and condole with his family, also in attendance were my colleagues from the National Assembly, Rt Hon Joseph Bassey and Rt Hon Bassey Akiba, as well as the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Hon Emmanuel Ironbar.

In the afternoon, I began progress inspections of a few of the ongoing road projects in Calabar Metropolis facilitated by my office. Namely;
Adiabo, Off Tinapa Road,
Ikot Nkebre Layout,
Road 4 Federal Housing Estate,
King Duke Street,
Idang and adjoining streets,
Clerk Alley,
Eta Agbor Layout,
Edim Otop Street.
It is my responsibility as the Senator of the Federal Republic and the representative of the district to facilitate and lobby for Federal Government ministries, agencies and commissions to execute infrastructure and developmental projects in Cross River South to complement the outstanding efforts of the Governor Otu led State Government administration in infrastructure development in the overall interest of the people of my district.

Later in the evening, I hosted a cross section of leaders of the Hausa/Fulani & Muslim Communities in Cross River South led by Sarki Alhaji Garba Lawal IV to Iftar at my residence. I encouraged them to continue to live in peace and unity in their communities as this is the key to sustainable growth and development.
