On the evening of Wednesday the 20th of March, I joined family, colleagues, and friends of the late Greatness Olurumfemi at a service of songs for the deceased.

I was overwhelmed by the tributes and encomiums poured on the late social worker, community mobiliser, and devout Christian, whose life was cut short at the tender age of 33.

In my short remarks, I stated that even though it was no consolation, I hoped that everyone close to her would seek some comfort in the actions that have taken place following her demise.

This includes instructions from the Inspector General of Police to police commands and medical institutions across the country mandating the compulsory treatment of all victims of gunshot wounds and other emergencies without delay.

It is my hope that the deeply tragic loss of Greatness, a young lady who lived such a full life in a short period of time, would lead to the saving of many lives.
Indeed even in death, Greatness will continue to do what she loved the most in life, saving lives.

May her gentle soul continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord.
